Artist Statement
In this photographic technique, an image is shot with a Polaroid bellows camera. While the photograph develops, the emulsion is heated and manipulated with small tools to soften the image’s lines and blend its colors. This process removes some of the realism and gives it a painterly quality. Sometimes, color is applied directly to the image using oil pastels or photographic oils.
I am also a musician and songwriter, with two independent CDs, and continue to perform locally and regionally. I find that visual creativity also inspires my music. Travel in the United States and abroad contributes greatly to my artistic inspiration as well.
